Meet Jackie
Hi there! I’m Jackie Cunningham, founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Green Kite Virtual Solutions Inc. Since you’ve landed on the “Meet Jackie” page you must be interested in who I am and how GKVS came to be, so let me pull back the curtain just a bit …
Personally, I am a curious mix of creative and techno-geek; a non-linear thinker who sometimes thinks in linear terms; a Metal Ox with a ton of 3s and 7s in her name. I am a mish-mash of values, philosophies, experience and skills that shouldn’t work together … but somehow magically do. I bring this unusual bent to everything I do. I look for challenges. I love to solve problems. I am a fixer. I loathe doing things the way everyone else is doing them — it bores me. I search for creative ways to do business as usual. I study with thought leaders and visionaries who push me to stand on the edge … to not play it safe. My lessons have mostly been learned on my own, in my own way, in my own time. I stand firmly in the “no one tells me what to do” camp. Sometimes that works for me … and sometimes not-so-much … but I always learn something amazing in the process, even on those fire walks that feel like they will never end. 
My company, Green Kite Virtual Solutions Inc, is a reflection of me. I help entrepreneurs engage their communities and attract Ideal Clients with online marketing that reflects who they are … authentically. Sure, we do the typical website, blog, social media, and ezine stuff. But we do it with our own special magic — that extra bit of creativity that makes us stand out from the pack. I love to work with business owners who are bored with traditional marketing and wish they could do something that feels more authentic and real. I love helping them find that groove — teasing out what works, what feels good, what feels too slick or salesy.
I love it when a client says, “Here’s what I want to do, but I have no idea how to make it happen.” That’s where the magic starts. In that open-minded, open-ended questioning is where I find the fuel to ignite my creative mojo and discover a solution — finding a way to make that obscure vision become clear and do-able.
A Little History …
I spent about fifteen years working in graphic design and various administrative support roles before starting my first company, a printing and promotional products franchise in 1997. Eight years later, after the birth of my son, I made a tough choice to sell that business to be a full-time stay-at-home mom. Still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
After 4-1/2 years at home, I was ready to get back to work and knew that I wanted my own business again (the entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in my family!). I started Green Kite Virtual Assistance in the fall of 2008 as a solo VA practice. Over the next two years working one-on-one with my clients in all aspects of their online businesses, I found my natural niche in online marketing support. As my client base grew to full capacity and I was running out of hours in the day, I decided to enlist a few highly skilled VA specialists to help me take really great care of my clients. At the same time I incorporated and changed my company name to Green Kite Virtual Solutions Inc. to better reflect what we do – a mix of extraordinary talents, skills and experience, working together to deliver amazing results and a stellar client experience.
